"It's not where you start, it's how you finish"

One of my favorite quotes from one of the videos I stumbled upon while YouTube-ing one day and the story was from a janitor (which I think is from Chicago) who once attended the high school where he worked as a janitor years after he graduated  and is now currently a principal. The former principal told him that he can go back to school and continue his studies and so he did while working as a janitor at the same time. It shows how far we can go in life as long as we stay loyal to our dreams and focus despite all the distractions that life throws at us.

Starving Artist

Starving. Stomach growling. No food in the fridge. Don't wanna wake up my sis or pops to borrow some money. Forced to ask the lady in the taco truck downstairs to hold me down for now I have no cash. Ordered me two beef taco with everything in it including jalapeño and a can of orange soda. Was nice enough of her to let me pay later. I'll pay as soon as tomorrow when they come back tho.

Embrace the struggle and days like this. They say life is like a wheel - you're not always in the bottom.

Be Informed as an Artist

• Be informed. Know what part of the marketplace your work fits; both the marketplace of ideas and the marketplace of certain kinds of objects. Making art is not only about being creative, but understanding the broader context in which you are making your work."
